| So you would like a bird for a pet? |
Before choosing a bird it is a good idea to examine your lifestyle. Do you have the time to give to a large, intelligent bird, or do you want to fill an aviary with colour? Some birds may be better suited to being in an aviary, rather than being an indoor pet.For example, some parakeets, such as Ringnecks, may be too noisy inside. While others, like the neophemas or grass parakeets, (e.g. Tourquosines) may be too flighty for an indoor cage and may become overly stressed and damage themselves. For the busy person, with not much time to devote to a needy bird; finches or canaries can make enchanting pets. |
